Imagine dropping your dog off at school every morning. Not a kennel. Not a boarding facility. A proper school with a daily timetable, social activities, and live pianist.That's Paw³ in Shanghai. And it's completely real.
Here's what a typical day looks like:
9:00 am — Dogs arrive and greet their classmates

The man behind it and why he started it
Founder Jann Zhang didn't wake up one day wanting to open a dog school. His golden retriever Fuzai developed severe anxiety. Zhang tried everything. Nothing worked.
He discovered dog daycare models in the US. He Came back to Shanghai. Built Paw³ from scratch.
He started with fewer than 20 dogs. Today he has 200 enrolled. Daily fees run ₹1,100 to ₹1,550 per dog depending on size.

The numbers that explain everything
In 2025, the urban pet market reached a value of $46 billion in China. One owner — Qian Yi — spends ₹45,000 every single month on her border collie Harry. It includes dog park visits, grooming, meals, swimming and daycare.
It's not weirdness on the part of the rich. This is a “culture change.”
Young Chinese are choosing pets over parenthood. Fewer marriages, fewer children, more dogs. And pets are filling that emotional void and in a very real and very costly manner.

China vs India — where are we right now?
In China today, dog kindergartens with organised lesson plans, live pianists at nap time, dog exercise treadmills, and pet owners paying ₹45,000 per month without hesitation.
India today has basic daycare and boarding in metros. Bangalore alone has over 400 doggy daycare providers.Two cities, Mumbai and Delhi are expanding rapidly. Vet-integrated boarding is becoming popular.

The guilt is there. Spending is increasing. There is increasing awareness. All it needs is someone who will do it the right way.
Why your dog really needs it
Most Indian pet dogs spend 8 to 10 hours alone every weekday. No interaction. No exercise. Only ceiling fans, and the hope that their human will come home.
