Common Dog Health Problems in India

Common Dog Health Problems in India

Our environment, about which most of us seem so unconcerned, impacts the health of dogs in India a lot more than actually perceived. Starting with the sun to the dirt, traffic, their eating habits, even till the floor of their houses-all these tend to impact them. The surprising fact is that a great majority of the dog health problems rampant in India are not exactly uncommon.

Dogs do not usually fall sick all of a sudden. They depict signs if they are feeling ill before the problem becomes serious.

Skin Infections and Allergies

Skin allergies are perhaps the most common problem that pet lovers are witnessing in Indian homes. These dogs have not only been scratching their bodies vigorously, but they have also seemingly lost some shine on their bodies. The dogs also retain some parts of their bodies wet as if they have just taken a bath. This results in some infections with bad smells.

The level of humidity, dust, and parasites—It is quite ironic that all these aspects are yet to affect the situation even further, especially with the monsoon seasons. It need not necessarily be prevented with regards to the soaking that is done. The aim is the fact that it is a necessity that is required in the context that the dog should be drained properly in the manner that the parasites will also be drained. In the Indian context, no prevention is required, especially with regards to the parasites, which would soon bring about its own negative consequences.

Digestive Problems

Digestive issues fall into this category, and the risk increases further if the dog is regularly fed leftover human food."Leftovers, rice, and milk aren't inherently toxic, but they aren’t balanced dog food. Feeding dogs a proper, vet-approved diet is key to their health," says an internet site for taking care of pets.

Loose stools/vomiting can be overlooked if it is associated with "what they ate," but if it is a repeated occurrence, it will point to digestive troubles. A healthy diet in a regular feeding schedule will mean more than the aggregate value of all the vitamin necessities. Dehydration situations, which would already exist because of the season, would make digestive situations worse.

Heat-Related Illnesses

Parasites are a reality dogs face every day in India. Ticks, fleas, worms, and mosquitoes not only cause dermatitis; they cause infections that could deteriorate the dogs.

Many serious cases involve the dog missing a dewormer or a round of vaccinations. Preventative care doesn’t always feel necessary, but it is what protects the dog before the problem is even apparent.

Joint and Bone Problems

Arthritis is no longer a disease exclusive to old dogs. In young dogs from large breeds, stiffness could already manifest. In addition, reluctance to move and avoidance of stairs should not be underestimated.

In order to alleviate this combined stress, one has to make sure that one is at a healthy weight and that one is not walking on a smooth surface. Otherwise, once this damage develops, it becomes difficult and costly to heal.

Dental Issues

Taking care of one’s teeth is the least maintained among all things in the human body. Common problems such as stinking breath, accumulation of plaque, and gums swelling are left alone until one experiences pain. Poor dental hygiene affects one’s oral health and is known to strain one’s organs.

Some simple practices like chew support or brushing go a long way in preventing discomfort for years to come.

Conclusion

Health issues that most Indians face with their dog do not have to occur overnight. Habits, environment, and lack of attention are responsible for their development. There is no need to do things right for health issues to be avoided. Dogs display signs through small changes in their behaviors for health concerns.

Dogs live a happier life as soon as their owners observe some of these symptoms. In most cases, creating awareness is the best solution for such a problem within the Indian scenario.
